Gone Argyle

We typically associate the argyle pattern with goofy golfers and prep school kids.  The argyle pattern actually came from Scotland, where Scottish Highlanders wore patterned socks from the 17th century.  I supposed they were made from wool…itchy but warm!  The argyle pattern popped over to England and quickly flew to the US… where it was then worn by golfers. Go figure!  Now the argyle pattern is used everywhere.  My friend Meg likes the argyle pattern, so her birthday card inherited a pink and green argyle cover.  On the inside of the card, I left enough space for a bunch of our friends to sign!

Lang may yer lum reek!May you live long and stay well.  Old Scottish Phrase!
