This past weekend our dear friends Chris and Kate finally got hitched! It had only been 9 years… We celebrated at the Pen Ryn Mansion in Bensalem, PA along the Delaware River. It was a gorgous sunny day! I was a bit worried for them since we had a crazy monsoon hit us the day before, but it cleared out just in time. After the ceremony and cocktail hour we hit the dance floor hard and had a blast! I would not recommend wearing 4 inch heels. My feet were like swollen sausages!
On a seperate note, the Pen Ryn Mansion was amazing. I am very fond of old buildings. The main part of the mansion dates back to 1744 when Abraham Bickley, a wealthy shipping merchant and colonial Philadelphia alderman, obtained this beautiful location for his country residence. Then in 1893, Lucy Wharton Drexel purchased Pen Ryn and greatly expanded the mansion by adding an art gallery, library, servant quarters, and carriage house. In the one area, the foyer was completely mosaic. (seen below)
Congratulations Chris and Kate on your long awaited nuptials!
