The latest birthday card I was commissioned to make was Harley Davidson themed. It had to be a “mack daddy” card. I am not really sure what mack daddy means, but I knew it had to be some sort of bad ass biker design, and make you want to sound out the grunting sounds like Tim the Tool Man Taylor! I really wanted to do a stamped motorcycle idea with some tire marks, but I could not find, for the life of me, a motorcyle stamp at Joann Fabrics and Crafts or Michaels. I mean, out of all the stamps these stores have, you would think they would have a motorcycle! Come on! Failing on finding a motorcycle stamp, I had to come up with something else. After going to my savior, Google, I found some pictures on the Harley Davidson logo. Perfecto! I drew out the logo on black paper in 3 different parts and then layered orange then drew the “Motor” “Cycles” in Sharpee. For the area that typically says “Harley Davidson”, I use white out to write “Happy Birthday”. I snazzed up the background with some funky orange and black Halloween paper and presto, the man’s man Harley Birthday Card! grunt grunt grunt.
